Summer Educational Activities

While I was sitting at my daughter's softball game tonight, a friend asked if our store carried activity books for kids to do at home. She was concerned about her daughter's mind staying sharp during the summer. Well... as a matter of fact, we do carry them!

Not only does our store, The Pointy Pencil, have a good selection, but our website does as well. For those of you who find it difficult to get out, here are just a few of the activities we have available online at http://www.thepointypencil.com/. Jane... hope this helps!

Here is an activity book to specifically target your child's grammar skills, available in whatever elementary grade level you need. High-interest activities allow students to actually have fun while they're learning grammar!

I couldn't resist showing you this next one... a game for children to play while they're learning to identify parts of a sentence. My kids would go for this! I'm not even sure they would realize they were reviewing their schoolwork!

Each player has a recipe (sentence) to make. Move around the kitchen (gameboard) identifying the correct parts of speech cards (ingredients) and start making your sentence. The first person to complete their recipe wins!

These are only 2 examples. Check out our website or store, and find exactly what YOUR child needs for the summer!
